The primary aim of the project was to embody the B Corp's values of sustainability and social responsibility into Lbox's business model, with the overall goal of obtaining B Corp Certification.
Transformacy began by assessing Lbox’s baseline governance, social and environmental performance through greenhouse gas (GHG) calculations, employee satisfaction surveys, and a detailed review of operational practices. This evaluation provided a clear picture of their current impact, highlighted priority areas for improvement, and set the pathway for meeting B Corp’s rigorous standards.
A significant focus of the work involved strengthening Lbox’s commitment to its people. Through the certification process, Lbox became a certified Living Wage employer - a milestone that had a transformative impact on many employees. This step ensured fair pay across the organisation and played a crucial role in boosting morale, wellbeing and long-term staff satisfaction.
We then worked collaboratively with Lbox to design and refine policies on ethical supply chain management, diversity and inclusion, sustainable resource use, and community engagement. Alongside this, we produced their first Impact Report, capturing both achievements to date and commitments for the future. This document is now serving as a transparent communication tool, reinforcing Lbox's values and measurable progress.
Results & Benefits
Through robust policy development, a strengthened people-first approach, and clear impact reporting, Lbox elevated their social and environmental credentials significantly. Key initiatives included enhanced parental leave policies, the introduction of annual volunteering days, improved sustainability practices, and - most notably - formal recognition as a Living Wage employer. This commitment materially improved the lives of many team members and created a more motivated, engaged and valued workforce.
Together, these initiatives and the publication of their Impact Report demonstrated accountability, transparency and authenticity - all critical to achieving B Corp Certification.
