Aim

The primary aim of the project was to complete the annual Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting (SECR) disclosure for Falck Fire Services UK Limited. This involved calculating and reporting the company's energy use and associated greenhouse gas emissions for the year 2023, in compliance with the UK government's SECR policy.

Solution

Transformacy was responsible for the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) calculations and emissions statements for Falck Fire Services. The project involved the following key steps:

  • Data Collection: Falck Fire Services managed the internal controls for data collection, while Transformacy performed the GHG calculations.
  • Scope of Works: The report covered all UK-based offices operational during the reporting period from 1st January 2023 to 31st December 2023. Energy and GHG sources included fuel used in company vehicles, natural gas, purchased electricity, and fuel used for business travel in employee-owned or hired vehicles.
  • Methodology: The calculations were performed according to the Greenhouse Gas Protocol Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard, using UK Government 2021 conversion factors.

Results & Benefits

The project successfully provided Falck Fire Services with a comprehensive SECR disclosure report, which included:

  • Detailed breakdowns of energy consumption and GHG emissions by scope.
  • Graphs illustrating diesel/liquid fuels, natural gas, electricity consumption, and business mileage.
  • Detailed recommendations on how to reduce the company's carbon footprint.
