Becoming a B Corp.

There is no minimum or maximum size for a company to certify. Certain companies, such as those under a year old, those with related entities, or large multinational and public companies, have additional considerations and requirements. Contact Us to find out more.

Pending B Corp status is for early stage companies seeking to signal that they are on track to certifying as a B Corp. To be eligible for Pending B Corp status, companies must have been operational for less than 1 year. To find out how the operational start date is calculated Contact Us.

Companies must currently complete the B Impact Assessment with >80 points and formally commit to consider all stakeholders. From 01/01/25, a new set of standards, requiring companies to meet a series of eligibility and performance requirements, will come into being. All companies must demonstrate continuous improvement and meet additional requirements at 3 and 5 years post-certification.

Our strength in B Corp certification lies with both our expert B Corp consultants and our proven methodology. This collaboration ensures we efficiently, and effectively drive your business towards success through both commercial and environmental initiatives.

Businesses are currently required to recertify every three years and produce annual Impact Reports outlining their progress to create positive impact in the interim years. With the emergence of updated B Corp standards, future certification will use a phased, 5-year approach - companies will be required to continuously improve their social and environmental performance to meet further requirements after 3 and 5 years.

To become a Certified B Corporation eligible companies must submit their B Impact Assessment, paying a submission and verification fee during the certification process, and then paying an annual fee as a member of the B Corp community. These fees differ by revenue size and can be calculated here.
